Gummy smile
Correction of a gummy smile with Botox — reducing the visible gums when smiling for a more harmonious, balanced and confident smile, without surgery.
What is a gummy smile?
A gummy smile (also known as a gingival smile) is when more than about 2 mm of gum shows when you smile. The most common cause is overactivity of the muscles that lift the upper lip. With precisely placed botulinum toxin, these muscles relax slightly, the upper lip lifts less and the visible portion of the gums is reduced — the smile becomes more balanced and aesthetic. We offer established brands — Botox®, Azzalure® / Alluzience® and Bocouture®.
How is the procedure performed?
Botox is placed at 2–3 points with minimal, individually chosen doses according to the anatomy of the lips. The procedure takes about 10 minutes, requires no anaesthetic and is practically painless. The first results are noticed between 7 and 14 days, with the full effect visible within about 3 weeks.
